Q: Why does my site counter differ from my credits used?
A: This is a common occurrence with ALL site exchanges. There are many
reasons why your site counters/logs differ from the amount of credits
issued by site exchanges. Before going into those reasons, you need to
understand some basic concepts first.
Site exchanges deliver "credits"-- not necessarily hits. Typically, a
page view exchange works like this: a "counting" frame is loaded at
the top or bottom of the page, your web site starts to load in the
main frame, and a credit is deducted from your account while a partial
credit is added to the viewers account (after the allotted time).
Whether your site finishes loading in the amount of time allotted or
not, a credit is still deducted from your account.
This is why site exchanges do not guarantee the amount of hits to your
site (majority of exchanges have this listed in their Terms of
Service). Site exchanges redirect traffic to your site. They do not
store members' pages on their servers. They simply send the viewer to
the members' URL.
With those concepts in mind, here are the most common reasons that
site counters don't always match with credits in your account:
Your site loads too slowly: Often times, members sites do not load in
the time allotted. If this happens, the member can choose to navigate
to the next site without waiting for your site to load.
We don't expect our members to wait around for slow sites to load.
Your site counter/stat log are on a different server than yours: If
you have an external stat tracker (Bravenet, HitBox, MyComputer, etc),
it is possible that your site is loading at a different time than the
stat tracker. It is possible that the viewer would move on to the next
site before your stat tracker is loaded.
Your URL is not entered correctly in The Surfing Traffic Exchange: The
URL in your account area should begin with "http://"
There should only be one URL per line without any extra lines in
between URLs.
There should not be any spaces in URLs. Double check all your URLs.
The Surfing Traffic Exchange will load any line of text (even if it is
a space) and count that as a credit.
You've used credits elsewhere on The Surfing Traffic Exchange.
Q: I have been clicking for hours, why haven't I received credits?
A: You probably aren't receiving credits for one of the following
reasons:
1. You aren't waiting long enough when viewing other sites. You MUST
wait until the top frame says "Credit Received" before your account is
credited.
2. You have more than one browser open to earn hits more quickly. If
you have more than one browser open, you are CHEATING and are not
receiving credits.
3. Your account has been placed on hold or no longer exists (this is
usually for posting or promoting sites against our terms of service).
